Launch Day with DOS Attack!
Today is our first day of service. We just went live only a few hours ago. Already we are experiencing our first DOS attack. The funny thing is that we haven’t even notified all the authors and yet somehow attackers are the first ones finding out about the website. Fortunately though we have been prepared for this and sort of counted on something like this happening. As soon as we noticed an unnecssary slow down we reported the issue the ISP and turned up all the Firewall DOS attack prevention systems.
The only real problem that we had was a minor slow down for about an hour. Things seem to be back to normal and the ISP techs are investigating the matter and will be dealing with the attackers through their legal means.
Aside from the early attacks we are anticipating a smooth launch and are happy to announce the completion of the site. There are still some minor problems here and there that we are working on none of which will prevent the site from functioning correctly.

We will conduct some basic training on how to use the system and will be building a detailed How To documentation very soon.
