This is my first post on Pole Sabz so I will begin by introducing myself. I am Hamed and I am a network engineer. I will be writing about science and technology and as my first post I will be showing you how to activate Persian keyboard so you can write Persian text.

There are several different versions of Windows 7 but the procedure for activating Persian keyboard is the same for all of them. Once you are logged on to your computer you would need to click on the window button to open up the start menu.

Then click on “Control Panel” to enter Windows control panel.

Control panel is the section that we go to make changes to the way we interact with the OS. The portion of control panel that we are interested in for this post is the regional settings “Clock, Language, and Region”. Within this category there is a section for modifying our keyboard settings. Click on “Change keyboards or other input methods” to enter the settings page for keyboards.

Once the window opens up you want to make sure you are in the tap “Keyboards and Languages”. Now click on “Change keyboards”.

As you can see in this example our default keyboard is English and we have the ability to add other keyboards. Lets click on “Add” and add Persian keyboard.

Once you add the Persian keyboard you can see the keyboard showing up in the list of available keyboards.

You are now done activating Persian keyboard. To type Persian text you must first open the program or webpage that you want to type in. Once there click in the text area that you want to type Persian text. Remember your default keyboard is English so now you have to tell the OS that you want to use the Persian keyboard. In the bottom right of the screen to the left of the computer clock you will see an option for changing your keyboard.

Change your keyboard to Persian. Now you can type Persian text.

Below is also a quick video that shows you how this process is done.
