Objective
Pole Sabz is a multi-blog platform designed to encourage a spirit of cooperation between members. Pole Sabz encourages and thrives on the diversity of its members. Pole Sabz system is designed to offer its members gradual abilities that get unlocked by engaging in constructive activities. Those who become members can begin to provide materials or interact with other members’ materials and those who wish to just browse can enjoy the useful information provided by the members. The system creates an atmosphere of cooperation between members and sorts out the information to provide high quality material for visitors.
What is allowed
Members are allowed to post any material as long as it complies with our policies. You can simply use Pole Sabz as your personal blog/micro blog to write about your personal experiences or you can use Pole Sabz for professional purposes such as providing materials regarding your profession. Businesses are also allowed to provide information and updates about their business practices as long as it is within the framework of the site and complies with the policies.
How it works
Pole Sabz utilizes credit system to assign roles to members. There are currently four roles available to members each role unlocking certain features. All members begin as subscribers which allows them to Recommend and Comment. Members’ activities are rated by other members. If other members find those activities as constructive then the user will gain credibility and his/her credit level will increase. If they find those activities as destructive the user’s credibility will drop.
The subscriber role acts as a trial period for the new members. It is not meant to scrutinize their actions but to familiars them with the system by showing them what form of activity is considered constructive and what is considered destructive. All new members will start with enough credit to give them enough room for mistakes.
Once a member gains the credit level necessary to move beyond the subscriber level they will gain the ability to provide materials themselves. The more credibility members gains the higher their role goes with each role unlocking more and more features to enable them to continue their positive activities. If a member is unable to familiarize himself/herself with the concept and continues negative behavior their credit level will eventually go below zero which will suspend their account.
Pole Sabz provides a personal page to members that contains all their activities and it also utilizes a public repository which holds every members activities in one location so visitors can easily find information without having to search for a certain member. To better organize the public repository we have come up with the state of the art Floodgate system which determines what blog posts are relevant at the time. The Floodgate system looks at the pattern of how readers are interacting with different blog posts and based on the pattern it decides what blog posts are relevant to the majority of the readers. The Floodgate system narrows down the public repository so good quality posts don’t get lost among thousands of other posts.We believe all posts are relevant no matter how old they are therefore we have designed the Floodgate system to review all posts with no regard to their published date. At this point the Floodgate system is only used for blog posts. In the future we will be utilizing the Floodgate engine for Pictures and Videos sections as well.
Multilingual
The web is not confined to a region. Unlike TV and newspaper the material posted on the web is accessible by anyone around the world. Materials that are provided in multiple languages will receive the most number of visitors. In light of that we have decided to make Pole Sabz a multilingual platform which will not only allow users to translate their materials but it will also automatically link the translations to the original material. At this point we are only offering two languages but in near future we will be implementing more languages.
