Another one of my interesting experiences this time in Atlanta

I have a knack for finding interesting things about places that I go to. This time I had an interesting experience when I was in Atlanta the other week that I would like to share with others. After I got to my hotel I decided to scout around the downtown area to find places to hangout and eat for the next few days that I was going to be there. [Read the rest...]

Dead Cat the Loser in Cruel School Prank

PETA has long warned that having students dissect animals in the classroom has the unintended consequence of teaching kids disrespect for living beings, and a recent prank involving a dead cat appears to bolster our case. A senior at John Jay High School in San Antonio stole a dead cat from the school’s dissection laboratory and placed the body on another student’s car. The victim in turn placed the cat [Read the rest...]

New Commodore 64 up for pre-sale!

It looks like the good old commodore is coming back and no it’s not running the old Basic OS. It now has a new OS which can still run the vintage applications. There are currently three different editions available. There is the vintage Commodore which is a full modern PC built into the vintage Commodore keyboard. The other two are VIC-Pro and VIC-Slim which don’t resemble to old design but [Read the rest...]

The power of blogging

A little while ago I wrote a blog post about what I learned about how technology companies are fueling the genocide taking place in the Congo. I thought it was important for everyone to know about what is going on and to find out what corporations are involved. Today both Intel and Apple have announced that they will begin to comply with the rules and stop purchasing the minerals unless [Read the rest...]

Delay in disclosing SSL theft put Iranian activists at risk, says researcher

Computerworld – The delay in disclosing a theft of the digital certificates for some of the Web’s biggest sites, including Google, Skype, Microsoft and Yahoo, put Iranian activists’ lives at risk, a researcher argued Wednesday. Comodo, the Jersey City, NJ-based security company whose reseller issued the bogus certificates, disputed the charge, saying that at no time was anyone at risk. Last week, attackers used a valid username and password to [Read the rest...]

RIP Palm you will be missed

Today HP announced three new WebOS devices. The same OS that Palm introduced to the market back in 2009. It’s great to see new devices running this wonderful OS however one thing was missing on these devices and that was Palm logo. It looks like HP has decided to drop Palm branding and go with HP logo instead. It’s sad to see Palm gone specially that they were one the [Read the rest...]

Scientists are trying to clone a mammoth once again

I guess the dream of seeing wooly mammoths roam around the earth again is not dying down that easily as scientists are hoping the advancements in cloning technology would result in a successful cloning this time around. The fact that some day we may be able to resurrect extinct species sounds wonderful but to do it just to find out why they went extinct sounds kind of unethical. It would [Read the rest...]

My other experience at the CES show

On my second day at CES 2011 I ended up meeting someone that talked about the other side to the CES show, a dark side that not many people know about. I for one didn’t know anything like this was going on so I feel obligated to write about this. This man was handing out flyers and asking people to listen to what he has to say and sign his [Read the rest...]

What’s Killing Arkansas’ Fish and Birds?

Thunder and lightning is being blamed for the death of thousands of blackbirds who rained down out of the Arkansas sky on New Year’s Eve. “There were multiple thunderstorms that night and for several days that week,” said Dr. George Badley, state veterinarian for the Arkansas Livestock and Poultry Commission. “Red-winged blackbirds fly in large groups and if they got pulled into a thunderstorm, likely lightning struck them. That would [Read the rest...]
